Contraband Radio 10/24

The weather is getting colder, and the music I listen to are getting more depressing. This month's playlist doesn't really reflect that since I don't always listen to slower and nihilistic music, but when I was making it, I did see that theme. Although sadder songs are reoccurring in the playlist, I don't think it's reflective of what I feel. I rarely feel the same way as the song I listen to which might surprise people. Most often I listen to the melodies and instrumental riffs. I don't pay attention to the lyrics most of the time. It's really weird. When I speak to people about music they often tell me they subconsciously listen to the lyrics. I can't even tell you a word from any of the verses on the first song of this playlist. I can tell you how the rhythm of the instruments sound though. I hope I'm not the only one that listens to music like this. I learned how to dissect each instrument and can easily predict the notes of the movements of songs. I can tell you what kind of bass they are using, what type of kit, what type of guitar, and even the EQ mix of these instruments. But I can't recite you a verse from one of my favourite songs even if I have a gun to my head. I wonder if this makes me bad at listening to music, or if that makes me unique.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this month's playlist. It starts off with one my favourite CAS songs, followed by Oasis (super excited for their reunion by the way). We get some folky songs in the middle that I love listening to while I walk the autumn littered sidewalks. It ends off with a mix of well written songs. I hope the playlist finds you well.
